This piece is titled “Promised by Love”, which is a play on my name “Amari” which means “promised by god” in Hebrew.
Molding clay and molding paste was used to create the textured look of the black and white spiral. Mostly solid colors were used purposefully, each color contributes to the deeper meaning.
There is a figure of a green woman, green represents the heart chakra, unconditional love, new beginnings, abundance and nature. All of those feelings are represented within her. .
This woman is holding a red balloon. Red represents the root chakra, foundation, connection to the earth, passion & love. This balloon is seemingly guiding the woman into this black and white spiral.
The black and white spiral depicted represents the feminine and masculine energy in the world. When these energies are balanced they create harmony & peace.
The woman in this painting is filled with love & being floated (driven) by her passions into a balanced life.
The moon is yellow and waning. Waning refers to the decreasing of the moon's light, inviting us to surrender and soften. The waning moon is a time to renew, withdraw, and rest.
The yellow in the moon represents happiness & hope.
